Get Your Bee Happy Smile

The cost of your orthodontic treatment depends on your needs and your treatment plan. Most people think braces will going to cost a lot of money.

But, that’s not really the case when you consider the long-term benefits and problems that they can help avoid. We’ll work with you to create a payment plan that fits your budget, and you will know what to expect before beginning treatment.

How to Pay for Braces

Orthodontic treatment, like most other medical procedures, may cost several thousands of dollars, because of all the work involved; not all of which is covered by your insurance (depending on the plan; see below).

If your child or you need braces, it can cost anywhere from $3,000-$8,000. The good news is that there are options for those who do not have the funds readily available to pay for such treatment options for braces.

Flex Spending Accounts or Health Savings Accounts (FSA or HSA)

These accounts are set up through your place of employment and allow you to take pre-tax dollars to set aside and use for medical expenses.

Because you never know when you may need this additional financial assistance, it’s a good idea to get the FSA/HSA account started now. That way, when you need it, the funds will be there.

Flexible Payment Plans

Talk to us about creating a payment plan allows you to make monthly payments. This is usually interest-free, and we’ll work with you to make sure you have a monthly payment comfortable to your budget.

Insurance & Braces

We Are Premier Providers for Many PPO Insurances

Many offices do not accept orthodontic insurance; therefore, the patient is responsible for collecting from the insurance company. Other offices accept from your insurance, but the doctor is not a participating provider with the insurance company. As a result, you are unable to receive the maximum benefit of your insurance plan (i.e. a lower or capped treatment fee with greater insurance coverage).

At Bee Cave Orthodontics, we are proudly premier providers for many PPO insurances and some DMOs to ensure that our patients receive the highest possible service and care at the most affordable treatment fee.

These days, there are as many different types of insurance plans as there are patients in our office. But, our experiences tell us that most insurance policies cover only some of your orthodontic expenses.

Here’s a list of some of insurance providers we participate with:

  • Aetna
  • Ameritas
  • Assurant
  • Anthem
  • Blue Cross/Blue Shield
  • CapitalCare
  • Cigna
  • Delta Dental
  • GEHA
  • Guardian
  • Humana
  • MetLife
  • Principal
  • UnitedConcordia
  • UnitedHealthcare
  • All FSAs, and more

Here are a few variables you need to answer before an insurance agent can help you determine what, how long, and how many procedures fall under your insurance:

  • The type of braces (braces, Invisalign, etc.)
  • The duration of the treatment (two months, six months, a year, etc.)
  • The cause of the problem (a patient presenting with pain, a parent’s concern, traumatic injury or accident, congenital birth defect/cleft lip or palate, etc.)
  • The nature of the problem (to correct pain/discomfort, cosmetic, etc.)

Talking to your insurance agent will help you get the right answers you need.

At Bee Cave Orthodontics, we offer a variety of treatment options for straightening your teeth in our Bee Cave, Lakeway, Austin, Westlake, Spicewood, Dripping Springs, and surrounding areas office. During your initial Bee Cave Orthodontics exam, we will determine which treatment option is best for you.
